Pierre Marcolini has opened a new store in London. It is white and light, with rose gold and marble trims. Everything inside is clean, luxurious and delicious. This store is the only location in London where you can purchase Pierre Marcolini patisserie. I am much more of a cake than chocolate girl, but this shop made me want everything and is filled with both. The Eclairs were selling faster than they could replace them and the macarons were perfect, un-cracked and stacked deeply in rows of delicious temptation.
All the Patisserie is made freshly everyday in a tiny and immaculate kitchen below the store, by two chefs who work with calm precision. Boxes of black and white labelled ingredient boxes fill stainless steel shelves. I saw the largest, juicy vanilla beans I have ever seen. The smell filled the whole kitchen when the box was opened. All the ingredients are of the finest quality. Pierre is passionate about cuban chocolate, a particular farm took 2 years of planning to work with.
I was lucky enough to met Pierre, who was an charming generous man, who’s enthusiasm for this work was infectious (smiling as he ate macarons straight from the display case). I asked him which were his favourite patisserie, his top list included the Caramel and the Chocolate Eclairs; and the Vanilla, Caramel and Passionfruit Macarons. So they should be on the top of your order list! It’s the perfect morning coffee break location, for an indulgent treat that will be totally chic and spoiling.
