Another winter has gone by and spring must be upon us because it’s time for Chelsea Flower Show again.

Marking the beginning of the warmer season with all the flowery gloriousness that only an RHS show can provide. I love attending every year and I have been lucky enough to manage a Monday Ticket for the past few years. This year we had the most extraordinary sunny weather which made the whole day perfect.

The thing that really stood out for me this year was the beautiful Cactus collection from Southfield Nurseries. It made me want them all over my house. Just stunning, like a coral reef on land, the cacti reminded me of sea anemones.

Sweet and Spicy Nachos

This recipe is a sure party pleaser, the key being loads of cheese! I knock them up regularly for a movie night, you can load them with chilli or dips or both!

For the Nachos

Turn you oven and grill on to 210ºC.
Take half the bag of Nachos and place them in a oven proof dish, then sprinkle half the Cheese over the top.
Repeat with the second half of Nachos and then the remaining Cheese. Place this in oven and allow to melt and golden.
Meanwhile, coarsely crop the Olives and Pepper-dew Peppers.
Remove the Nachos from the oven and serve straight away with the Olives and Peppers Sprinkled on the top.

I love this with my Guacamole and Sourcream Dips but it is also yummy with Tzatziki or make a whole meal of it with my Quesadillas too!

Day to day I normally wear trousers. I guess they are more practical for running around and picking up my dog (Thumbelina) and I feel very comfortable in them aesthetically too. But every now and then I will put on a dress and I will remember why they are so special. Nothing makes you feel more feminine or empowered in a strange way.

Diane Von Furstenberg had it right when she said… “Feel like a woman, wear a dress”. Pink can be a step too far for some (myself included at times) but I think it’s about being in the right mood and getting the right balance.
