The Gritti Palace Venice

Stay

The Gritti Palace has a prime grand canal location and stunning interiors to match. After the recent refurbishment the interiors are worth a visit alone. I recommend going for supper and eating on their grand canal terrace or spending your life savings on the Redentore Terrazza Suite which includes a fabulous private roof terrace with grand canal views, a plunge pool and exquisite privacy.  You can find my other Venice recommendation on my travel rolodex pages.

This hotel is a Venetian institution. It represents pure venetian luxury, which means over the top fabulousness. However be aware the prices match and breakfast can be busy during the summer (as the whole city is).

Black Chloe LFW SS15

Fashion WeekLFW

I missed last fashion month because I was moving house. So I was a bit out of practice this season. With the launch of the new site, I decided to just attend LFW this year. The first day was fairly relaxed (as always) so I wore this lovely black Chloe number. I love this dress, so simple and so chic. I don’t like over accessorising cuts this clean, so it’s a pretty understated look. You can see me wearing this look on British Vogue here. If you want to see my press you can always find it on my Info page.

Watermelon, Feta and Mint Salad

SaladsSavourySidesStarters
Normally I serve this salad in the summer, however I've decided to share it with you now because it also works as a wonderful Canapé, and with party season on the horizon I though it might help with your no doubt fabulous plans.  Serve this as a Canapé, Starter, or Side Dish to BBQ Chicken or Fish.

For the Salad

  1. Cut up the Watermelon so that you have chunky cubes with as few seeds as possible.
  2. Very finely slice the Red Onion, a mandolin is great for this.
  3. Take 2/3rds of the Mint and ruffly chop it, retain the rest whole.
  4. Combine the Watermelon, Red Onion and chopped Mint in a serving dish and generously cover in Black Pepper.
  5. Using your hands crumble the feta over the top and then add the Olive Oil and Balsamic.
  6. Finally garnish with the remaining mint.

Top Tip

This recipe also works wonderfully as a Canapé.

Simply cut the Watermelon into cubes, the Feta the same size and make little towers, add the Mint and Onion as a little flourish on the top and I add lots of Black Pepper and Honey as a Drizzle.
