Roast Garlic

This recipe is so simple, totally fool proof and it's the basis of many, many other delicious dishes. You can use it just like regular garlic once you have made it. I keep them in a tupperware box in the fridge for use all the time. You will find lots of other recipes on the site use it as an ingredient.
  1. Scatter the Herbs across a baking tray then place the whole shallots or Garlic on top.
  2. Season with first Olive Oil, then Celery Salt and Pepper.
  3. Bake at 160ºC for 30 mins. You will be able to tell they are done when they are beginning to ooze that wonderful golden syrup from the top of the bulbs (like in the photos).
  4. You can use them straight away, but beware they are HOT! Or keep them for future use in a tub in the fridge. They will last for at least a month.

You may remember that I recently went to Oman on holiday. Since the summer was taking so long to come in London I thought I better chase some sun.  This is the hotel I stayed at (which you will have seen in the background of some of my outfit posts).  It was a lovely hotel with the most amazing long pool, set in front of huge desert mountains that summoned visions of biblical scenes, leading down to the the beach in front of which the hotel is situated. The Chedi is very much part of the genre of hotels that are enclosed encampments, preened and perfected by a huge staff of garderners and staff. It's well worth getting a a club room from which you can enjoy a lovely view over the water gardens and the treat of  complimentary tea and cocktails everyday.  Nearby trips can also be taken to the sook, desert and out to watch dolphins and other sea life.   All only a short flight from Europe.

Cat Mint

I used to have a cat who loved to roll around in the cat mint with the bumble bees, they both ignored each other and enjoyed the smell and sweetness of the flowers.  He would lie in the flowers all day sometimes. The cat mint always reminds me of him. He was grey and silver and the colour of his fur in the purple was so beautiful. So this is my ode to Pussy, the best cat ever. Aren't the colours amazing, I thought this lovely bag from Couronne was the perfect colour with the purple, just like Pussy.
