I love the idea of dressing like a golden age hollywood star on holiday. They had it nailed from day dresses to swimwear. Even their casual looks were beyond chic.  So I took a little page out of their book and got my mothers vintage gucci shorts out with a classic twin set while I was in the Maldives.

Red Endive, Orange and Watercress Salad

This salad is both beautiful and tasty, it's the perfect companion to a very rich dish, as the citrus cuts through in a delicious way.  I love it with my Truffle Macaroni.

Prep the Salad

  1. For this recipe you want to prepare all the elements first and then ensemble it on a platter. It’s super quick and easy.
  2. Peel and segment the oranges.
  3. Open Endive and trim ends.
  4. Use a potato peeler (or a if you have one a mandolin) to make super thin slices of radish and then beetroot.
  5. To ensemble begin with the endive, then add the orange segments, then the radish and beetroot (which I like to curl into rolls), and finally the watercress over the top.
  6. Drizzle balsamic reduction (or a super thick balsamic if you can get it) and nut oil over the top.

One of the many stop worthy shops along the length of Rue Saint Honoré.

The Goyard boutiques in Paris are worth stopping into if only to window shop.
The stores are one of the many places in Paris that appear like time stood still. Remove the other shoppers (of which there are thankfully far fewer than in London) and observe the dark wood panelled walls and heavy glass cabinets. It’s perfection.

Not to mention the service is lovely, they will monogram for you and then send it anywhere in the world.
