There is nothing more glamorous or luxurious then proper lingerie. When I say 'proper', I mean the kind that doesn't just do the job, but makes it an art form. As a woman I know that underwear is a truly personal and private thing. What looks good and works on one body does the opposite on another, and rather like an outfit, lingerie tells those lucky enough to see you in it, more about the kind of woman you are and how you want to be seen in private.

Agent Provocateur is a master at this art form.

Every kind of shape and every kind of woman can be expressed within by their marvellous creations.

They’re undoubtedly know for the sexier side of their collections, but there are also wonderful bridal lingerie, swimwear, and their classic collection is my personal favourite.

I have always loved the idea of being able to swan around my home in a Kimono and heels, so this post was an homage to that. Also I wanted to show how versatile lingerie can be in terms of clothing. I often wear ‘lingerie’ as clothing, as you will have seen in previous posts (this post and this one) and here with a corset to make a gown.  I hope it inspires you to look at your underwear drawer with new rigour.

Long Shorts, Short Top

LondonOutfits

The Long Short is a strange beast. Part board short, part culottes, part trousers. They are the kind of piece that seems hard to wear but actually you will find them so comfortable and that they go with loads of pieces you already had. I love them with a chunky knit or a sweatshirt, but they also work well with shirt or  a cropped jersey top. They also work really well as evening wear.  To me it’s a very grown up look not a trend, I’ve had one pair for ten years and still wear them.

Love in Idleness

At this time of year, every year, I think how beautiful the bluebell woods are. I feel like I'm always in search for the perfect blue carpeted haven. Sheets of blue under the trees. It's pure magic. Although bluebells never grow in mid-summer, the scenes have always evoked a Mid Summer Night's Dream for me. Which I why I named the post Love in Idleness, the name of the flower Puck is sent to find. I imagine it would have looked like the dark purple wild orchids we captured between the bluebells. I have wanted to shoot in the bluebell woods for sometime but I always felt it needed to be a magnificent outfit to stand up to the setting. When Razan Alazzouni approached me I knew it was the perfect opportunity to shoot something special.  The dress was almost theatrical in it's beauty.
