Bronze Brown Shadows
I’m a huge fan of a brown smokey eye. My beauty reference is always Olivia Palermo for this look, she does it so impeccably well, and it suits her beautifully. I wanted to do a whole eye look using the Laura Geller Delectables Delicious Shades of Nude Palette. I think it’s one of the best eye palettes on the market. The formula is so smooth and creamy, making blending effortless and the colours are universally timeless and chic. This is a tutorial just for the eyes but you can reference my Everyday makeup for the base. You could use a eyeshadow primer to enrich the colours (I recommend the Urban Decay one). I think this look wears beautifully day to night, so try it this friday!
Using a Diffused Crease Brush, pick up Vanilla and make an even base across your whole lid.
Follow with Mushroom in your crease to begin to map out your shape.
Now pick up Hazelnut and and map out your crease. You want to try and follow the round of your natural eye shape.
Now using Mahgony darken the crease and corner. Remembering to blend the edges as much as you can with each new application.
Pick up some more Mushroom and use it to blur the edges, just keep blending until you cant see any hard lines.
It’s now time for the metallic shades that will add some dimension to your eyes.
Change over to a Firm Shader Brush.
First pick up Honey. Add it to the inner corner of your lid.
Then pick up Sunrise, and add it to your Middle lid.
Blend them into each other seamlessly. This is just time blending with your brush and adding a little product at a time.
Now highlight your eyes. Using Becca Champagne Pop, with a Pencil Brush, add ‘light’ to your tear duct and the highest point of your brow.
I now use a bigger brush, like a Soft Blend Concealer Brush to blend over the whole eye. This just softens any lines and makes sure the colours blend into each other well.
Now with the Pencil brush again, I just map out my crease with a dark matt shade. This is optional, but I like the added contour it creates to your eye shape. Truffle is a great colour to do this with.
Finally I use a brown waterproof eyeliner (Givenchy Khol Couture Waterproof Chestnut) under the bottom lash and tight along the top lash (only on the outer two thirds on both) and blend it out with my Firm Shader.
With the Lips I use two matt liquid lipsticks to create a little lip contour to finish the look off. Start with the darker shade (in this case NYX Beauty Mark) and line your lips. Then fill in the centre with the lighter colour (NYX Baby Doll). Using your finger to blend the shades together.
