Suede, Felt and Denim

LondonOutfits
Ever since the Moschino black felt cowboy hats came out I have really wanted one.  I think they work so well with the western style and with crisp tailoring. Then I stumbled across this hat at Liberty’s and had to have it! So here is my kind-of-cowgirl look – I reigned in my desire to put my cowboys boots with this outfit. I think you can have too much of a good thing in an outfit, after all this is not fancy dress! well actually…
Here I’m wearing… Asos White Boots, American Apparel Disco Pants, a Vintage Denim Shirt, a Vintage Belt and a Hat by the New York Hat Company.
The ring on the far left is Topshop, the armour one next along is ASOS, and the turquoise one on the right is from Morocco – I picked it up on the one and only modelling job I ever braved! – and is a man’s ring, I had to have a smaller ring set inside to make it fit my midget fingers.

I made the necklace a good few years ago, with odds and bods my mummy had at home. However after wearing it that day, I promptly dropped it and the string broke… soooo RIP necklace!!! boooo… Hopefully I can bring it back to life with a bit of TLC.

Take all that you can carry!

ArticlesFashion WeekLFW

With London Fashion Week approaching, I have to start to get organised with my clothes and essential bring-alongs. Other than tickets to the shows and presentations – which lets be honest are kinda the most important things to remember – I also have a survival kit.

This includes…

  1. Bottle of water – not glamours but essential
  2. iPhone
  3. iPad
  4. Tissues – again boring essential
  5. Camera – either my Polaroid or Canon 60D
  6. Blister plasters
  7. Scarf either white or oatmeal – even if it doesnt go with the outfit, its winter be prepared to hang around outside in sub-zero temperatures, you can always remove for photographs anyway
  8. Touch up make-up – depends what you are wearing but generally a lipstick and bronzer… I hate looking pasty
  9. Lip Balm – sooo essential, I like Eve Lom, Palms and Chapsticks
  10. Mints and gum – no one wants to be talking to smelly breath
In terms of the most interesting – by which I mean decorative – essentials, I have certain wardrobe essentials that I always need at some point during LFW…
  1. Big bags – big leopard YSL Downton or Fendi snakeskin tote
  2. Big sunglasses – Giant Vintage, Tom ford, Lanvin
  3. My mini Hermes Birkin
  4. Belts – mostly Hermes ‘H’, collier de chien belt and vintage
  5. Venetian gloves
  6. Statement shoes with super high heels
  7. Hats, hats and more hats  – Philip Tracey, Marie Mercier and Maison Michel
  8. Costume jewellery – mostly Topshop and Asos

Marshmallow and Chocolate

BakingSweet
These are the yummiest mini cupcakes I have made in a while.  They are Chocolate with Marshmallow icing and chocolate flakes.   You can add some mini marshmallows to the frosting for extra texture if you like. Find another Chocolate Cake recipe here.  Another frosting recipe is here.
