Its better in the USA

Some things are just better in the USA. You know things like... burgers, barbecue, portion size, whole foods, movies, Sci-fi conventions, sitcoms, the red carpet and finally vintage. I have a couple of vintage dealers on eBay that are my most fav, and they are all based in the USA, which means I have to pay loads more for shipping - and wait way longer for them to arrive, not to mention the annoying 'come pay for the tax on your parcel' notes the postman leaves me! -, but the clothes are just so much better than anything I find in the UK. Even the packaging they send it in is cool... see it below.

Florence Part I.

Florence is one of the most magical cities in Italy, impressive when Venice, Pisa and Rome are in that mix. Some think of Florence as the more austere sibling of the great Italian cities, but I have only ever enjoyed it’s light, relaxed and carefree atmosphere. A place to have adventures, open your mind and gain some happy pounds. The history of this city bombards you everywhere, whether you are a history and art buff, keen shopper or a foodie there are historical places for everyone to visit. Part II here.

Santa Maria Novella

The perfect stop for historical buff/shopping addict couples. Based in this historic church is this wonderful perfumery and pharmacy which is 400 years old. The products are really amazing and in such wonderful surroundings you wont be able to stop yourself buying everything. I love their burning papers.

Hotel Savoy Florence

The perfect lunch spot. This hotel has a restaurant that opens out onto the Piazza della Repubblica. Order the sage butter pasta. One of my happiest memories is of eating this in the sun with my mother.

Grom

Delicious Gelato and drinks, this cult shop is across Italy and some of the rest of Europe now, well worth a visit when you seen one.

San Lorenzo Mercato Centrale di Firenze

This is a wonderful food market, you can buy everything from amazing cheese (which they can vacuum pack to travel) to organic local produce. Well worth a visit for one of the best coffees ever, but also to pick up somethings to take home as presents (or just treats for yourself). I love the truffle products and fruit.

Hotel Villa San Michele

A converted monastery, this hotel has the most amazing views across Florence. Enjoy them over a delicious (if not bank breaking) lunch on their terrace.

This is my easter in photos. I am wearing a fisherman's smock that my mother had made for me from vintage fabric we found at an antique fair. We always have an easter egg hunt in the garden - you are never to old to enjoy the hunt for chocolate -, and I won this year! The dachshunds are ours, Cedric and Cinderella, the french bull dog is Sala and belongs to my faux god-parents. I hope you all had a lovely easter too!
