The Dreamers

ArtFilms

This film is oddly haunting. I have only seen it once, several years ago and yet it has stayed with me. I often recall scenes of Paris from it. Eva Green is youthful and captivating as the strange sister of Louis Garrel who traps a young american boy (Michael Pitt) and involves him in their complex games. Dark, sinister at times and confusing, this tale will keep you on your toes.

The Dreamers (2003) is a controversial film. This Bernardo Bertolucci story will shock you at times, but the beauty of the setting and the unnerving sibling and sexual relationships it frames will intrigue you. Set in the spring of 1968, three teenagers live alone in Paris for month, bonded by their mutual love of cinema they find a way to live together.  I really recommend this film for a rainy sunday.

Shoe Heaven Manolo Blahnik

CollaborationsShop
Harrods has just opened "Shoe Heaven" the ultimate shoe destination. Made up of 17 mini boutiques it's a shoppers dream, creating the world's largest luxury shoe destination. The space feels like visiting a beautiful penthouse filled with shoes. Manolo has opened it's largest boutique in Europe within the store. Set on it's own mezzanine with large rounded windows which let in that rare commodity in department stores, natural light. It's a beautiful space to shop and browse in. Designed by Nick Leith-Smith Architects (who have a long-standing relationship with Blahnik) the store feels much more like a bond street boutique than a concession in a department store.

I was asked to be the ambassador for Manolo Blahnik for the launch of Shoe Heaven at Harrods. It was such an honour to meet Mr Blahnik and see the store with him.  He designed this silver Mule exclusively for the launch.

Natural Brilliance

Natural beauty is my ultimate aspiration. To look like you just got out of bed looking effortlessly perfect. Sadly for me that isn’t a reality, so I try and wear make-up that assimilates this, by wearing as little natural make-up as I can.  Although I love a red lip, for me it always goes with bare skin. I don’t really go for outlandish clothes or accessories anymore either. I used to love costume pieces but more and more I love the look and feel of natural things against my skin. Silk, cotton and cashmere and are my favourite natural fibres. I love both yellow and white gold jewellery too and a diamond is the cherry on the top of everything.  I love these effortless De Beers pieces for everyday natural brilliance, so when they asked me to create a natural beauty story I jumped at the chance.
