Wild at Heart

Shop

The prettiest flower shops in London and possibly the most shared on instagram are all the creation of Nikki Tibbles. Each shopfront is the focus of the lovely neighbourhood it occupies.

Pimlico

The Pimlico Wild at Heart was the location of my Chanel Couture editorial.  The shop window is filled with a cart of flowers. Even the buckets are arranged in colour theme so that the display is as beautiful as the arrangements they make.  Stop by the shop and see the florist make up bunches on the zinc work table outside the shop. The Wild at Heart flowers stand out not only for the lovely store design but also for the combination of natural and urban aesthetic in their flower design. More carefree than traditional florists and yet not so wild that they would look out of place in the many London homes they decorate.

Westbourne Grove

The Westbourne Grove branch of Wild at Heart fills the middle of a crossing. Taking use of a blue tiled and glass building, the flowers glitter across the street calling you towards them.

Liberty London

The front doors of Liberty are always decorated by the lush blooms of Wild at Heart. This branch offers more potted plants which is a lovely addition.

Colour Splash

CollaborationsEditorials

Splashed across the floor. Lime green, citrus lemon yellow and dove grey. The perfect backdrop to the perfect summer shoes always from Pollini.

This collection of Pollini summer shoes represents the best of classic Pollini style. With bold monochromatic themes, geometric shapes and the classic metallic heel. You might remember my piece in the winter about their ultimate boots with the same heel.

When Pollini came to me again this season to create an editorial around their shoes, I really wanted to do something urban. A lot of my editorials have been in rural or seaside environments, and although I love this aesthetic I think its important to showcase the beauty of the city too sometimes. I decided I wanted to create a colourful sculptural shoot, that framed the shoes like hair to a face. I also tend to love red, and black tones for editorials (it’s un-deliberate but I think I just gravitate to those colours) so I thought it could be exciting to stretch myself and my colour palette. I nearly never wear green or yellow, often I think it makes my skin look an odd colour. Although, I hope you will agree it worked here.

From the whole SS15 collection I chose these three pairs of shoes, The Slingback, The Pointed Flat and The Nude Sandal, alongside this classic Nude Clutch.  I thought each piece represented a distinct look and need from summer shoes. You could live all summer with only these three pairs of shoes and some beach flipflops and never be less than totally stylish. Pollini have completely understood how women wear shoes and created collection after collection to show that.
