I don’t know about you, if its just my age but all of a sudden I seem to have an event or a wedding every weekend of the summer. Despite my large wardrobe (theres no point pretending otherwise) I still find it hard to find different things to wear to each thing. I don’t want to repeat outfits in the same season too much and I also want very special pieces and more carefree pieces for different events. Sometimes it’s just too much pressure to wear your most expensive dresses, when their are lawns and children involved (or in my case food, myself and thumbelina!). So I have found myself returning to old haunts. I loved LK Bennett as a teenager. Their kitten heels were everything, and after going to their press day a month ago I realised they have a whole new lease of life and their summer options for events were lovely. They are just the right amount of special (‘yes I love you and made an effort for your big day’) and not so ‘look at me’ that you feel it’s sending all the wrong messages (‘it’s all about me not you’). I loved their tea dresses and cute shoe combinations. These are a few of my favourites to give you a bit of event dressing inspiration. I was thrilled when they asked me to share some with you after our chance meeting at their Press Day. I always try and go and see one new brand a season and this time I chose LK Bennett. What a funny coincidence to then end up creating this. Sometimes things just work out.
