Shine Three

EditorialsMakeup
For the final part of my Shine series I wanted to create a glossy eye. When I was at school, we would put vaseline on our lids to create this look. Now I'm grown up I know it's not really a hardwearing look. However it's just a pretty. Perfect for a fairy costume this halloween. We still kept a metallic cupids bow (this time a light silver rose colour) but we brought back a more subtle highlight. I have to add a special thanks to andjelka for helping me create this story, and naturally Victoria for capturing it.

Hackney Walk

CollaborationsLondonOutfitsShop
There is no better feeling than finding a beautiful piece at a bargain. Outlet shopping has arrived in London with the opening of Hackney Walk, London's first Luxury Outlet District.

Hackney Walk is a series of train arches that have been converted into luxury outlet stores all located on a corner of Hackney just 2 minutes from Hackney Central.  It’s super easy to get there and spend an afternoon just wandering from one end of the shops to the other. There is also a great cafe called Legs which you could refuel at. All in all a fabulous way to spend a Sunday. Go straight to Columbia Road in the morning, then have lunch at Legs and shop till you drop on Hackney Walk!

Top tips…

  1. Always ask the shop attendant for help, they know their stock really well so are really helpful.
  2. Check out the bags, I was amazed by the epic classic styles available for winter.
  3. Go with a friend enjoy the shopping more and get an honest opinion before you commit to a purchase.
  4. Check everything before you purchase it (most things are sold as seen).
  5. Start at one end of the Walk and go methodically from one end to the other. review all the shops and ask them to hold anything you like behind the till. Once you have checked out what you love. Go back ready to purchase. That way you won’t run out of money before you find that hero piece!

Brands include Burberry, Anya Hindmarsh, Bally Aquascutum, Joseph and Matchesfashion.com (which stock a broad array of labels), see the full shop list here. Most of the shops stay open till 5pm or later.

Shine Two

Gold tipped lips. For the second look from this Shine series, I wanted to do an accented lip. I love the idea of a gold edge, like illuminated manuscripts and Pre-Ralphalite paintings. I actually referenced Rossetti, Waterhouse and Millais for the composition of the Shine series. To achieve the dewy wet skin look, Andjelka sprayed a lot of MAC Fix + across my whole face.
