Sustainable Choices
Recently I’ve been thinking about where I came from. Professionally speaking. This year will be my 10th year blogging and when I recently looked back through my archive, more than ever before, I realised that my style hasn’t really changed. Looking back through some of my more recognisable #streetstyle shots I realised how many of the outfits I would still wear today and how many of the pieces I still own. I guess my style hasn’t really evolved, it’s always been quite classic. So on a slightly woke theme I thought why not share some of the pieces styled how I would wear them today alongside the images that you might have seen of me during fashion week over the last decade. I found this amazing vintage @ysl suit on eBay. It’s actually a three-piece suit but I’m just wearing a jacket and trousers here. I also wore it to Paris fashion week in 2012 I think. Swipe to see>> Nothing could be more #sustainablefashion than a vintage piece that has also lasted the test of time in my closet. I think it’s always been possible to shop smart to reduce waste and buy only pieces you will enjoy for a lifetime, whether vintage, designer or high street. Ever since I was young my mother would ask me when we went shopping – “what will you wear it with?” – It was such a great lesson in knowing your closet and maximising the wear of new and old pieces. I still hear her saying it every time I shop. Photo by @kitleephoto and @vanessajackmanphotography
The Suit I’m wearing is vintage and can be found in other outfit combinations on my blog. As Trousers here, as a Jacket here, as Jacket again here and as a Suit in the original Streetstyle look here.
