A blouse to last a lifetime

LondonOutfits

Its not always about the most expensive or exclusive piece. Sometimes the most precious things are just random. I love this blouse. I think its near perfect. Its from Zara a good few years ago, and every time I wear it I regret I didn’t buy ten at the time. Its so wearable. It looks luxe and its a constant reminder to me that if you buy a quality high-street piece it will both last the test of time and look expensive.

I think we can all get swept away with luxury brand and big price tags, but its important to remember that a good closet is built with time and love and not from an “it” designer in one season. I always try to think about the life-cycle of any piece I buy, cheap or expensive. I really do believe in cost-per-wear. Something won’t end up being expensive if you wear it a lot and equally something cheap can become a waste of money if you never wear it.

I grew up with my mother asking me… “What will you wear it with?” and its a question I still ask myself when I shop. It helps to keep you existing closet in mind, in order to avoid buying mistakes or repeats (although how can you have to many pairs of black shoes?!).

On a very separate note… I have been having a few technical issues of late with the site, so please forgive anything not being 150% at the moment, my team and I are working our hardest to correct any problems. If you have an specific queries or issues to report please contact me as always via the comments below or email me at lim.peony@gmail.com

Thanks for understanding.
